Kenya Water for Health Organization (KWAHO) is a national non-governmental organization founded in 1976 to implement Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH). KWAHO is widely recognized as the first indigenous, Kenyan NGO at the community level specifically dealing with water and sanitation. Centre for Social Planning and Administrative Development (CESPAD) is a non-governmental national organization legally registered in 2004 under Section 10 of the Non-Governmental Organizations Co-ordination Act of the laws of Kenya.

Sahelian Solutions (SASOL) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in the Republic of Kenya. Our priorities are in the areas of community development, access to water, and food and income security.
SASOL Foundation is commonly associated with building sand dams. While sand dams are an excellent way to provide a community with long term water and food security, SASOL is involved in many other areas as well.
Nosim Women Organization is a local NGO in Kenya. It is located in Kajiado town, a distance of 80kms from Nairobi. It was registered in 2001 under the NGO Act (1990) and has been active in Kajiado central district since then. NOSIM is led by women from the marginalized Maasai community and aims to counter the negative cultural practices that affect health and gender relations within the Maasai community. The organization focuses on cultural issues like female genital mutilation (FGM), human/children’s rights, water and sanitation, livelihoods, education (especially the girl child) and HIV&AIDS. The primary purpose of NOSIM is to empower women and children in the Maasai pastoral community to identify and achieve their own development initiatives and promote decision making.
Network for Water and Sanitation (Netwas) was established in 1986 through a UNDP/World Bank program known as the International Training Network for Water and Waste Management (ITN). ITN was set up as part of a global initiative to support the International Drinking Water and Sanitation Decade (IDWSSD), which commenced in 1981 and ended in 1990. This program sought to establish centres of excellence in water and sanitation in developing countries. During its formative years, Netwas also received both financial and technical support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to meet the challenges and gaps of the water decade. Initially, Netwas was kindly hosted by the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) from its inception until the end of 1994
Dupoto-e-Maa (Olkejuado Pastoralists Development Organization) which is a local indigenous organization based in and operates from Kajiado County. Dupoto-e-Maa has a membership of 80 drawn from a wide range of professionals. It was founded in 1993 and registered in 1994 as a Non-Governmental Organization under the laws of Kenya. The formation of the organization was aimed at addressing issues affecting the local Pastoralists negatively in terms of illiteracy, poverty and primary health care. The organization currently runs programs in education, livelihood, economic development, primary health care and peace building as its core business through a variety of intervention. In its efforts towards achieving these objectives, the organization has initiated new schools, and subsidized the training of teachers.
